В ночь с 21 на 22 июня в областном центре состоялось мероприятие в рамках Всероссийской акции «Свеча памяти», посвященной Дню памяти и скорби.
В ней приняли участие первый заместитель Губернатора – председатель правительства Тульской области Юрий Андрианов, представители администрации города Тулы, члены областной и городской Думы, представители силовых структур, ветераны, волонтеры, жители города. Всего около 2 тыс. человек.
«Почти 4 года наши отцы и деды ценой своих жизней защищали нашу Родину. Благодаря вам мы сейчас живем под мирным небом. Низкий вам поклон, дорогие ветераны! Живите долго! Ваш подвиг навсегда останется в наших сердцах», — отметил Юрий Андрианов.
Участники акции почтили память погибших минутой молчания, возложили цветы и установили свечи к Вечному огню и обелискам городов-героев.
После митинга все желающие смогли принять участие в акции «Напиши имя своего Героя» — написать о подвигах своих предков в годы Великой Отечественной войны.
